Terenzano, Italy

Art holidays in Italy

Escape to Italy with your sketchbook!

First one-week course: 5–12 June 2020

Second one-week course: 14–21 June 2020

At: Terenzano, Italy

Here’s what Marianne says: I am so excited to be going back to Terenzano, this is the perfect opportunity to share some of my enthusiasm in a beautiful place and with lots of fun! I love all things Italian, so naturally I’m really looking forward to the pleasures of the glorious Tuscan landscape, the particular colours, the local architecture, the ambience and of course the food (and wine!). Bring your sketchbooks and some paints and enjoy it all with me!

Each one-week course will follow a similar pattern. Every day holds a different promise – you might be staying put in Terenzano, or going out on a day-trip; wherever you are, there’s likely to be a morning session focusing on different aspects – the fabulous views, the Tuscan architecture (including a bit about perspective), the immediate surroundings, how to make a painting sing, what colours to use, plus help in using your materials, whether that’s charcoal, pencil, pen, watercolour, acrylics, pastels or water-soluble pencils. Afternoons will be laid back – a chance to carry on painting if you like, or just take time off to relax. There’ll also be the opportunity for every student to have a tutorial, and Marianne will be very happy to give demonstrations too. You’ll need to bring your own sketchbook and materials, though there’ll be a few supplementary materials available too.
